Our in-person workshops for people experiencing memory changes or early-stage dementia and their care partners offer a range of activities at barns and equine facilities that are based on research conducted at UC Davis and Stanford Universities and have been shown to benefit participants through hundreds of workshops in diverse communities. \n\n\nNo prior experience with horses is necessary to participate. SUMMARY:NEW! Introductory Group Barn Experience
DESCRIPTION:We invite your group (up to 10 participants) to join us for a two-hour Introductory Group Barn Experience at a Connected Horse barn!  \nOur Introductory Group Barn Experiences are designed to introduce groups from the community\, senior living\, and other organizations focused on those affected by neuro-cognitive changes to the therapeutic benefits of human-horse interaction. Participants are introduced to our research-derived equine activities including mindfulness practices\, interations with horses\, hands-on activities\, and group support. Trained facilitators guide on-the-ground interactions between horses and participants\, who report a greater sense of awareness\, confidence\, and social connection\, all while having a great time!  \nCommunity groups\, senior living\, or other organizations serving those who are affected by neuro-cognitive changes along with their care partners are welcome. Limit of 10 participants per session. All participants must be from the same organization. Transportation is not included.
