Maggie Mead works at at UC Berkeley, where she helps international visiting scholars with their visa application process. Having grown up around horses, she understands how wonderfully “real,” down-to-earth, and accepting they are of us humans. She likes volunteering for the simple pleasure of being around them, and for the camaraderie of the human volunteer “herd.”
